Hey Rod,
My new Legacy H10 came WITHOUT the orange module. It seems Lionel wants you to invest/load the engines info via the LCS Sensor track.
When the engine passes over the IR sensor, the info is relayed to the remote. Unfortunately I don't have/want the LCS sensor track to I just manually input the info and get on with my day.
Hope this helps!
Daniel is right (no pun intended), you do not need a sensor track, You can very easily and quickly enter all the data you need via your CAB2, It should take a minute, or two if you need to read the instructions along the way.
That is true. They have gone away from them starting in 2017. Here is a link discussing and also a video to show you method to add:
Interestingly enough, my new Vision Line Niagara came with the orange engine module...
I suspect it to be a cost saving thing. Something they will NOT do on anything Vision Line. Or should I say SHOULD NOT do lol. Lionel these days can surprise anyone.

I suspect you are right, just the way the world is going I guess. I was shocked a couple of years ago to find out my new Durango did not have a transmission fluid dipstick. Probably saves them about a buck on the assembly line!
Anyway thanks for the info guys. 🤠

While discontinuing the orange module may save costs, i never understood why they created them in the first place. It only takes a couple of milliseconds for the orange module to load its few pieces of data. You can do this with the CAB2 in a minute, or less. It would have been more cost effective to have added a paragraph to the instruction sheet, listing the five or six things you would need enter. Instead they have a bunch of people upset about losing something you didn't really need in the first place.
