I wounder if anyone has experienced this with the Fastrack Legacy switch. When the train goes ovser the sswitch when the switch is in a curved position; right after I switch ti to the curved position, it goes well. When the train comes back theother way in the curved position, it does well; but when it goes back over the switch in the curved position, the bar on the switch moves and the train derails and tries to go straight.Is there a way that his can be fixed?

What's the Fastrack Legacy Switch? Is this a standard Fastrack switch? How about a product number?

I believe rat is referring to Lionel Command Control switches. Have you tried calling or emailing Lionel Tech Support for the answer? You should always go to them first for problems like this. They will most likely want to repair the switch for you.

Yes, if it's a new switch, I'd contact Lionel. The issue is a mechanical issue from the description, there is a spring loaded over-center mechanism that should hold the switch in the thru or out position, sounds like it's not working.

If this switch behaves like this with every loco (in other words, if this isn't a problem with just one specific loco) then John's explanation (and suggested remedy) has just got to be correct. ---- I had up to 23 Fastrack switches for over five years and one one 72 inch switch go bad like this.It was clearly a spring that had weakened or whatever. I just replaced the switch, being five years old
I actually fixed one of these, I got the switch used in the sale forum with a similar issue. I just got a spring from my junkbox and replaced the one in the switch, so far it works fine.
