Lighting up a Plasticville Frosty Bar

Just buy yourself a spool of LED strip lighting on eBay. They can be cut to length and cost almost nothing.

Add the grj strip LED lighting circuit and you are good To go. The circuit can be found on the Hennings trains website-an ogr forum sponsor.

Quick and cheap.  Hang a mini Christmas tree 12v bulb from the ceiling.  The sockets from a mini

Christmas tree light string make a good socket and pig tail for hooking up to your 12v light circuit.

  Are you trying to create a mock florescent light bulb or fixture, or just want to light up an interior without seeing the light source?

Any "bar" would really be an enclosed strip of a few LEDs. I don't think electroluminescent wire, or tape, or sheets, would be bright enough, but might be.??

Those strips of surface mount LEDs can be very thin (1/16" +/- a hair, or maybe ⅛"). Each led might be a tad smaller than 2, or 4 grains of rice.(depending on the source and size, of course, but very small & flat)

My first thought on a fast and easy fixture are the clear square tubes that lead for mechanical pencils come in. Even if the strip is too wide, you could glue a half tube on the strip, but over the LEDs. Then paint the tube side facing the viewer, leaving a "lens" on the bottom, and a clear side to increase lighting the rear some rather than straight down only.

Decide if you'd like a yellowish or bluish tint too, "white" is usually a tad yellow or blue. I'd use the yellowish for incandescent look, and bluish for a florescent look.
