Lights for Thomas
My Grand daughter asked me if I could put lights in her Thomas the Train passenger cars. I got thinking how I was going to do this and came up with two prototypes.
The first one uses AA batteries and strip LED’s. This one works well but I’m not sure how long I can expect the batteries to last, 8 to 10 hours??
The second one uses track power and it too works. Because the car frame is made of plastic I had to use a brass wipe on the axle and a Marx center pick up. I’ll use the same strip LED’s with a rectifier, and, if I can figure out how to wire it, a capacitor to keep down flickering.
Am I overlooking anything, or is there a better way to do it?
