This maybe somewhat late to ask this but anyway. I decided that I would purchase the Lincoln Funeral Train and the Add-On 2 car set.  Very happy with the Funeral Train but not at all with the 2 car set.  Can someone please explain to me just why the 2 car set cars both have caskets in them just like the Funeral Train?

I’ve emailed Lionel asking this and after two weeks have not heard back from them.  The dealer sent me a link to the Lionel sales page but no where does it state that they had caskets in them.

Wow.  I bought three add on sets.  None of them had a casket in them.  The only casket I have is the four-truck heavy Presidential car with the flag-drapped coffin in it, that came with the loco.

BTW, I modified six of them, putting new interiors in them, etc., into a full Victorian era train, baggage car, dining car (I know they didn't have them then), observation car at the rear, and three normal coach cars.  Installed new interiors and painted them.  They are quite nice that way . . . here is four of them behind a 1880's 2-8-0

As I recall the only coffin on it, certainly the only on display with flag and honor guard, was in the Presidential car - the special one with four trucks (it was the Air Force One of its time, armored, etc, and needed them for the weight).  That is modeled fairly correctly on that one car.

The other cars (add on) were for family, friends, honor guard, government officials.  they didn't have coffins in them.

The funeral car has two caskets in it.  I opened up one of the add on cars. No what you see thru the windows are not ATM's. Looking from one side you see what could be taken as two caskets. BUT these are walls to form a hallway. One of te walls turns to make a short wall going across the car. This forms a small semi privet sitting area. So no caskets.
