So, I have a very nice condition 1662 with a 2203T.  They are in nice condition.  I had to replace a few wires but everything works.   As some of you know, I am not an expert but I love the old Lionel trains.  So, I am looking for a little help.  I have the wiring diagram and I think everything is connected properly but what and how do things work?  I plug in the tender to the switcher but I am not sure what should happen when....

How do you decouple?  Is the light of the tender always on or just in reverse?

If anyone has a manual or other document or experience to help me verify that everything is wired properly (which I think is ok) but just looking for something to tell me how this switcher and tender should operate.

Thanks

Ron

This would be my checklist:

*E-Unit should cycle F-N-R-N (when e unit lever is engaged)

*Headlight Lamp and tender lamp Should Illuminate whenever track power is applied.

*Both couplers should uncouple when the tender is appropriately placed on an uncoupler section of track (and both wire plugs are connected). Note that the couplers are NOT independently controlled.
