Currently finishing my basement to start a big layout. I need to figure out how many circuits to add to my house. Does anyone know what the input amperage draw is of a lionel 180w brick? I plan on 6 bricks for track power and another 2 for accessory power.

About 1.5 amps if the powerhouse is at max output (120 volts times 1.5 amps equals 180 watts).

If you wire the new house circuit with #12 wire instead of #14, you can put a 20 amp circuit breaker in place of the 15 amp breaker.
I always put the ceiling lights on a different circuit than the wall outlets.
