Not sure if this is the correct spot for this or not? Anyways, curious if anyone knows what catalog this engine was in and any info you may have on it good or bad?

That engine was in the 2008 Vol 2 catalog. You can find the specs by going to the Lionel Website and do a search for the product number 6-28287. I usually go to the products page to do the search but I do not think that is necessary. I have 3 Lionel Legacy SD70Ace engines and think they are terrific.

I've had this engine since it first came out - in a word, it is outstanding! Sounds, pulling power, even smoke has been excellent, and it has stood the test of running for just shy of eight years. Paint is super crisp. Find that matching extended vision caboose and you'll have a very nice consist.
My BNSF SD70ACe was built at the same time. Great engine.
Just curious. Satin or Hi-Gloss paint jobs on these?
