I am thinking of getting this engine, but I'd like to use it on O36 curves. I'm not sure, but I think it may have been built before Lionel introduced Fastrack, so the next up in their track at the time would have been O54, which is what is listed as the minimum for it. Does anyone have this or a similar engine and has tried it on O36 curves? Thanks!

I don't have that specific model but I have one of the newer Legacy berks. Technically it'll make O36 but it's really pushing it and it seems uncomfortable. You'd be better off even with O42.
Thanks for replying! Does it make O36 turnouts OK? My main layout is O54 and O72, but I have a yard where I used O36 for a reverse loop. I've got some large steamers and I'm looking for a couple smaller ones that can also handle the yard curves. Would all be slow going.
Not to burst your bounce but if you look at the Lionel product page found HERE it is plainly stated minimum curve is O-54. Might get away with O-48 at slow speeds but O-36 not gonna happen. Being a scale locomotive and the fact it’s a 4 axel ridgid frame even on O-54 best to watch the cab as it will swing out and smack anything too close
