If I use my Marx 2 light Floodlight Tower using 14V bulbs, the bulbs are very bright, trying to use Lionel & Marx 4 light Floodlight towers with the same 14V bulbs, and using the same Lionel powerful transformers, the light output is very dim.
Should the lights be the same brightness , if using the same 14V bulbs.

If the Lionel floodlight tower is the postwar 395, it uses 6 volt lamps, two in series. Using 14 volt lamps in it would require about 25 volts to get it to light up bright. I do not know anything about the Marx tower. My guess is that if both towers had the correct lamps in them, they would work correctly on about 12 volts.
