Lionel 4050 TX with 5906 Button? | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Looking to add whistle/horn activation to old transformer for small layout. Will the button activate a new soundboard (060 docksider) with the old transformer?

Also, is the 4050 50 watts? The writing shows 7.5va.

Bit small for the job. I'd recommend a 1033 transformer in good nick.

Will the 1033 activate the new sound boards? I know my ZW does it some of the time, I had a 1033 a long time ago and couldn't recall if it honked the diesel horn or not in my FA.
