I picked up a used 5121 027 switch, hooked it up and worked fine. All of the sudden it started buzzing even without the controller hooked to it. I have the fiber pins in the right place. A soon as it gets power it just stays on.
Is there a place that's common for internal shorts in these ?

The bottom plate will have to come off for inspection.
Looks like I need to do a little drilling..
Should I lube the plastic slide on the body and the plunger in the coils ?
I sprayed the plunger with contact cleaner which helped free it up...
The slide is a little sticky..
No oils or grease. Keep the plunger clean, maybe graphite on the plastic parts.

Rob is absolutely correct, however if I were you I would just pick up a couple of these particular switches used, most of the train stores have them for very little money, in reality they were built as throw aways, most times it's easier to pick one up than repair one.

I paid $5.00 for it at swap meet. I've slowly realized the labor involved is greater than the return.
Is there a way to disable so I could use it as a manual switch ?
