Recently purchased this item, and find it needs new traction tires. Replacement of one set of tires appears to require removal of cro sheaf guides or cylinder castings. To say “some disassembly required” is an understatement! I hope you can direct me to a source for an exploded parts diagram and parts list. Any serious advice on the disassembly/reassembly and parts sources is appreciated. Thanks for your help.

Apologies, I entered Lionel model # incorrectly. Correct # is 6-28085.
You dont have to take the cylinders off The main side rod shaft between the drive wheels is the only thing in the way
Correct product number is 6-28085 (fully realize might be a simple typo) http://www.lionel.com/products...2-y-6b-2200-6-28085/

Hope this helps, but being honest, this is one of those more detailed jobs and I'm not sure the pictures are going to help. Sorry, I am trying.
The cross head guide prevents complete removal of the hex head screw which mounts the main drive rod to to the driver wheel, and thus prevents removal of the main rod.
Here's an older thread discussing the method to get at those tires:
Many thanks RickO, I was hoping to find a step by step procedure. The pictures are a huge help. This is a job that requires much contemplation and a little liquid refreshment before beginning.

Emphasis on "a little" if you want all the pieces to fit after the job!
I recently had to replace the tires on the original B&O EM1 that looks like the same setup as you have. I had to buy these metric wrenches for the wheel screw removal since the supplied tool from Lionel would not fit over the screw head. The 5 MM is the correct size. It’s still a very frustrating job. I had to use two picks and a flat blade screwdriver to slide the tire around the wheel. It may just be easier to take the engine apart as shown in the video. 😁

Thanks for sending. I found that a 3/16” open-end wrench from my ancient set of ignition wrenches fit those screws. I have changed the traction tires using the disassembly procedure described in an earlier reply.
@Ohio Den: OMG! I’m glad you got the traction tires changed out on that thing, but what a PITA! 😳
