Thanks, Rich

I would like to make this statement. If you pre-order an item you can expect to get a better deal than waiting till they come out. In todays world its hard to make a decent profit on the items we sell. Sometimes we order some extra and get lucky and these items actually go for MSRP. I have had a couple of phone calls for these reefers and when I said they were sold out, the customer was upset and said he would have to pay $399.99-$499.99 per set on E-bay

Thanks

Pat

Unfortunately, we will have to either purchase at the time lines offered or go to Ebay. I m being more selective on BTO and If I really think I want it I buy it. Did that with the Big Boy, the new KCS Southern Belle and the NYC Steamer - Yeah it is a lot of money, yes I want them now, and will take them when delivered - better planning and fiscal management by all.

We will need to change out buying habits. for all in the long run it is better, less blow out inventory, less angry consumers that paid dearly for an engine CC1 & CCII only to have them devalue 2 years later when they were re issued. This helps protect the value, maintain pricing, and hopefully keep dealers around for the long haul.

I am not unhappy and Pat is right- they need to make money to support retail outlets, inventory, etc.

We will all learn.

Since Pat is "sold out" and he referenced sets on eBay, hopefully this post passes proper etiquette with the Webmaster.  If it doesn't, then so be it.  It is what it is.

So it appears the "FreightSounds Frenzy" has begun with these cars, but not quite the level experienced with the Vision Line Tankers (yet).  For now, a few recently completed buy-it-now sales occurred slightly below to slightly above MSRP.  The highest so far has been $350.  A few more auction-style transactions are due to complete later this week, and I believe these to be the first "auctions" of these cars... so it'll be interesting to see their final selling price.  I think the $499 Buy-It-Now is wishful thinking this early in the game by the seller.  But if any of these auctions approach that number, then a nervous buyer will be sure to bite.

I pre-ordered my set from Pat, the price was great and the shipping service top notch.

For the set of reefers, in my opinion, I would not pay above the catalog price, the foreman chatter is pretty hokey. The squeeling brakes and flat spot thumps are OK and add a realistic sound during operation but after three cycles of the foreman he got his walking papers.
