Does anyone have a diagram showing the path for removing the boiler of the Lionel Hudson 763e? I need to get to the motor so I can switch it out for a can motor. I downloaded the diagrams available from Lionel, but they mainly show parts...not screw paths.  I don't want to dismantle any more sections than needed.

Thanks for any info.

That's a very easy job: there's 1 screw down the smokestack & 2 others above the ash pan. Turn the engine over, remove the rear truck & ash pan - there are 2 screws holding the rear of the boiler to the frame. You'll probably want to take out the headlight bulb, for extra clearance. Hope this'll help.

If it's an original prewar 763, it's worth more with the original motor... DK
