Unit won't light up or power anything. No humming or any noises. Any thoughts on what may be wrong.

there have been posts in the past that this transformer does not do very well with lots of use. do yourself a favor and get one of these;
I don't use it. I have an old zw. I just got this thing out to use to power something in the house while working on it and discovered it didn't work. Certainly not my first choice but I wanted to see if I could at least get it working.
everyone that I know who has had problems with the 80 have not been able to fix them and just through them out. maybe someone will have a different idea.
I have CW80 going on for two years now i haven't had any problems except when i first got it one of the thumb knobs on *** side where wire hooks to stripped but i use it everyday to run trains
Sorry, just reread your title. Is this a problem with the power supply or the controller. The rest of this post applies to the CW-80: There is an internal fuse that may have blown. I have fixed several of these. Hard to open, but once you do, easy to figure out if it is the fuse. If it is the chip, best to let it go or use the Transformer as a pure AC fixed 18 volt output. G
