I am about to start working on my mountain/tunnel for my layout using cardboard strips and plaster of paris. I like the looks of the 910-2 tunnel portals and was curious if there are any size restrictions with using these portals with Lionel's post-war cars?

I don't know the source of the 910-2 number. When searching Lionel Tunnel portals, These are the modern issue I think of:
If this is what you intend to use, you will not have any issues with any post war trains. I use these coming off a sharp curve (o31) with no problems.
