Stu, What's the minimum radius?

Hopefully they use the actual presidential seal. The Trump 4545 version used the Bush Library seal.
The previous Metca SD70 runs were amazing! Count me in for the Air Force Ones and the Santa Fe! (Pleasant surprise when preordering Air Force One!) Will be running it with 4141, MTHs 4343 and 4545.
I love this paint scheme, I may have to get me one.
Hi Stu, you will have to pick up the ball that Lionel dropped with this latest catalog. METCA should do a run of the Air Force One colors on another extended vision caboose for all these we have now. #4141, #4545, and now this #1776 beauty. Yes I pre-ordered it. Thank you for your consideration. Dave Nichols
I think both of their special sd70ace versions look great. I might have to preorder one of them myself.

According to the 2021 Catalog, 0-36. 0-36 is also listed on the box label of the SD70ace's manufactured in 2020.

Thank goodness the classis Air Force One paint scheme is now SAFE. Will not change.

I run Lionel SD70ACE models on 048 all day long with no trouble.
Since this is the presidential plane, this Lionel model will include Hail to the Chief on the sound set, activated by Aux-3. Deadline for confirmed reservations is this weekend.

Cool. Hopefully the engine won't explode or fall off.

Air Force One is a 747 not a triple 7 so no worries there. It's also an EMD product so is isn't as prone to a flash over like it's GE cousins.
Great idea Stu. That Raymond Loewy paint scheme is a true classic design.
Right, the 747's are about 35 years OLDER than the 777's. That's why they work.

Agreed, it's a great relief. That paint scheme proposed by T was a travesty, and UGLY.
It has been said that in all these years Raymond Loewy's paint scheme has not been changed because it cannot be improved upon.
A little OT but I just read online that the new Air Force One currently scheduled to be delivered sometime in 2024 will be based on the 747-800 design even though Boeing is no longer supplying 747s. I suspect the four engine approach makes a lot of sense as part of the security for that type of an aircraft.
Maybe the GE ET44c4 would have made more sense to paint this scheme on. Only 4 traction motors on that locomotive. Sorry that was not as punny as it could have been.
As I already have UP 4141, I decided to pass on the AF1 locomotive. But that yellow bonnet SF locomotive under it just got ordered by me.
Speaking of ordering, when I clicked on add to cart, it took me right to PayPal checkout. There was no account creation for the Metca store. Is this normal? How will they know where to send my locomotive to without mu address, or how to keep me up to date on orders without my email?

Yes, that's normal. METCA uses the PayPal checkout system, so there's no METCA store account to create. When you take the next step in the checkout process, your PayPal shipping address and email will be sent to us, or if you don't have a PayPal account, you will be prompted to provide that info.
If any questions, feel free to reach out to me.

Just placed an order for the SD70 AF1 - very cool concept with room for expansion (yes Stu - that was a request for a scale flatcar with The Beast aka The Presidential Limo on top).
Between this and the Pennsy 2-6-0 you guys are killing my train budget.

Hi Stu
Do you know if this version of the Air force One diesel will have all the new features found in the 2021 Legacy diesels? I place my order yesterday.

Hi Duncan,
Yes, this one will have all the same features that the other SD70ACe's in the 2021 catalog will have. Actually, the Air Force One will have an extra feature; it will have an Aux-3 option which will play Hail to the Chief when you press the Aux-3 button. Other than that added feature, it will have all the same sounds and features as the other Legacy SD70ACe locos.

Any news on official offerings on this?
These were shipped by UPS yesterday. If you ordered, it should be in your hands maybe by the end of the week or certainly by next week.
We have less than a handful remaining. If you'd like one, they're in stock at:

I received a delivery notice from USPS that the AF1 Engine was being delivered today. Saw the mail lady come around and with excitement went to meet her. She handed me a few envelopes and that was all. I said "no box for me?". She said "no - maybe tomorrow".
Paul - all good waits come to those with things - Licata
I live in South Central Pennsylvania. Received mine at noon today. Delivered by UPS. Great packaging job. Dave
Heh Heh Heh - mailman made a return trip , I'm having a good read.
I'll bring her downstairs tomorrow on the one week old loop of gargraves on bare plywood on top of the new Mianne Benchwork. I have one loop down just because I had to run something.
I have never used the Legacy system but tomorrow I'll plug it in, play around and have some fun. I'm quite pleased to actually have a train running around in my home again.
The picture in the advertising was great
The pictures posted on-line have been great
In person - this thing may be one of the best looking Diesels I've seen.

Stu,
Thanks for the heads up! Had to get the 1776 Red, White, & Blue “We the People” version. Can’t wait to get it. It will go great with my Preamble Set 😎
Yes, thank you for the heads-up - ordered up the AF1 scheme the other day, just waiting for UPS notification now
I received mine yesterday - double boxed and absolutely a stand out beautiful Ace. This is going to look super sweet with 4141.
I also noticed these are no longer available on the METCA webstore. Glad I got one! Thanks, METCA.
I seen it at the first frost meet in Allentown, it was tempting but I passed. I have the 4141 and the trump version I believe that is enough for now. I just purchased the B&O SD70ace which is a very nice paint scheme.
I didn't get the AFO locomotive, but I did get the SF one, and boy what a beauty she is! Even my N gauge buddies were impressed. That ACe wear the blue and yellow so well.
My USA SD70ACE Today! She’s a beauty. I put her in the Preamble Express set. I especially like the AUX 3 feature that plays a singing of the National Anthem. 😎😎😎 Thanks again METCA & Lionel. 👍🏻 Super packaging job Stu. 👊🏻
SURPRISE!!! I found the diecast banners in the box with the tires. They have hooks to go over the top of the railing. Nice added touch. 🇺🇸
Looks great! The flags do look great too.
Hey Guys, thanks for all the pictures.
Kevin, your photo with the bunting/banners/flags installed is the first photo I've seen with them installed; cool, thank you. A video of the loco playing the Aux-3 command would be great!
METCA's 3 custom run SD70ACe's were very successful. The Air Force One and Santa Fe versions are sold out. We do have a few more We The People red/white/blue in stock for immediate shipment:
Stu
Here’s the AUX 3 - Star Spangled Banner feature. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Yeah, this was a great scheme. I picked one up at First Frost. Everyone loves it that sees it.
Great job Stu!
