Finally got my new Legacy ASTF northern out of the box and on the track. Loaded the module to engine #59, went to run it and nothing, no response: no movement, whistle, bell, etc. The number boards are lite though, and I can get other Legacy engines to move. Any suggestions? Did I forget to do something?

Try loading it manually like a TMCC engine. If that doesn't work call Lionel tomorrow .

Did you put the program switch back in Run after assigning the address 59?
make sure the draw-bar is aligned.
try an engine reset page 27 in the manual.
Thanks for the suggestions, problem solved. As I suspected with my other quality control issues, it was operator error. It has been some time since I added a new TMCC/Legacy engine into the system. I read the Legacy instructions, which told me to address the engine id# and insert the Legacy module. Well, I know how to program TMCC, but the handbook didn't tell me to "first re-assign" the engine to desired id# then add in Legacy module. Opps!!! So taking the advice here, I addressed it in TMCC, it started and ran. Then I reassigned it and added Module, and all is good in the Garage Layout. Too bad it took me till bedtime to get it right, not this afternoon when I had time to play.
Anyway, thanks to all suggestions, they were most helpful and avoided another dumb customer calling Lionel for help with a "problem" engine!
Glad you are squared away. Alls well that ends well!!
