Lionel Automatic Highway Flasher 2760 | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Having difficulty hooking up the Automatic Highway Flasher to my layout from the 1980's.

I want to use my insulated tubular track to hook this up, but the supplied instructions are only for the use of the 153C contactor.

How do I hook this up with the insulated track or am I stuck using the 153C?

When I did it, I took the insulated rail and cut it into thirds. Outer two thirds went to bulbs, one to each bulb. Inner third was "blank." You have to use insulating pins on both sides of the two outer thirds.

In effect, you have two "mini-insulated rails" and the bulbs do blink a bit more realistically.

Your signal has a flashing circuit built into the base, so all you need to do is use an insulated rail of any length you desire for the trigger section. The split-rails sections are not needed.

I had no idea that version had a built-in flasher circuit! Off to the Sell/trade section to see about trading 2 for 1!

Bill, MTH has an identical model to the 12760 - a clone of the 154 but with the flasher circuit...
