I have a 262E tinplate loco (11-6023-0). Does anyone know how I can switch out the latch coupler for a knuckle coupler to build a tinplate consist? Thanks in advance.
Most people remove the latch coupler and baseplate assembly (if equipped) and fit a postwar magnetic knuckle baseplate to the axles. The spacing in shorter, so you have to bend the back of the baseplate to fit over the axle.
I do have some couplers I got from Lionel years ago. They are for cars like the milk car and twin bin dump car. Number is 60000 483 002. Will that work?
