I have the Bowdish Homestead sold by Lionel. When I run electricity through it it lights up, but the woman in rocking chair, nor the woman on a minor turntable on the second floor don't work as they are suppose to. Any thoughts how to fix this. the item seems brand new although I bought it second had.

Did you get the manual with the house? It looks like there two ways of connecting it; conventional or command control.
The manual is on the Lionel website.

Yes I downloaded the manual, there are two connectors, pos and neg that allow you to wire directly to transformer. I did it conventionally. Both light bulbs come on but no the motor that drives the turntable, with figure or the rocking chair with figure.
When I was a child I had the opportunity to visit the Charles Bowdish homestead near Brookville, PA. for their annual Christmas display. This was about 1956 or '57 before the display was moved to Buhl Planetarium in Pittsburgh. There were several large room-sized dioramas with Lionel trains with his signature animation and also a nativity scene

How much voltage is the accessory getting? What type of transformer are you using?
Sometimes the accessory side of a transformer is programmed to a lower voltage. This accessory is rated 12-18v.
I'm running 12 -18 same as track about 18. MTH 4000

Sorry leeg didn't mean to get of subject did you ever find problem roof lifts off ,wiring motor circuit board mechanisms found under second floor,are all board connectors plugged on if so any noise of motor running .
