is there any info if lionel stopped building the CW 80 with a sleeve bearing fan? those were said to be a big problem if the improved it what code numbers or model year would that be on? I like what the CW does but mine is shot

They have been redesigned w/o the fan but have not yet been released.
If just the fan is bad.. replace it...microcenter etc..
You can buy ball bearing fans the same size as in the CW-80 and replace it.

I replaced the inferior sleeve bearing fan with one another member was good enough to post the info on and it works perfect. i’m actually looking for another CW 80 to make further changes on like eliminating the obnoxious oversized heat sink/shield lionel built it with replace that with each triac having a separate heat sink and using high quality 3M double faced tape to mount the fan and install a resettable breaker with that it should last a good long time I don’t run that much stuff
