Lionel Engine made for K Line Steamer -

This Lionel engine was working through my TIU with the legacy box wire through the TIU.

Had not use it for a few weeks and now all I get is some static out of the tender.

Thought maybe it was the battery 9.5 v installed new still the same reaction static from tender.

I deleted it from the my hand held then reinstalled and still won't do anything any ideas?
