Lionel Fastrack Middle Pin Issue

Bend it back.  A good interference fit is important when working with Fastrack anyway.

It must have been assembled once with the pins off to the wrong side, no harm no foul.

Bend it?

It seems hard as a rock...and it looks more like it was somehow installed on the wrong side.

And its not removable like the side pins either.

I had a fastrack piece that was manufactured wrong...I forget what, I think switchedaround somehow.

So....

Disassemble it and put it back in the proper place, OR, use a different piece and exchange that one at the store you bought it.

Unless the pin itself was improperly manufactured, it really isn't possible for it to be installed "wrong" due to the nature of its design.  It's probably bent, but since the section is new you should exchange it if you can.

I don't understand the problem so let me ask a few questions. How can the middle pin be on the wrond side, It is in the middle? Do you mean it is on the wrong end? Is it not on the same end as the outside pins? If this is a curved track this problem can come about when you make a reverse curve, that is you decide to turn the track in the other direction. The solution is to move the pins to the other end of the track. This is not easy because of the tab Lionel places on the bottom of the pin to keep them from comming out. I may be wrong but I though the center pin was a solid pin and not sloted like the outside pins.

I'm looking at a piece of Fastrack, it looks impossible to put the pin in on the wrong side.  The only way that could happen is if the pin was manufactured with the finger on the wrong side of the tab.
