I've been working for a few days on a layout design for O36, and I've come up with a design that fits a 10' x 7' space, with room to expand. It's all one level, and I'd like any ideas concerning expanding it to either a second level above or below, and potentially an expansion to make the table wider with perhaps a crossover.

Omegatron,
When I try to open your file to look at your layout, I'm asked what software to use to open it. Don't recognize the file extension ".layout." What software program did you use?

I used a free Mac program called RailModeller Express. There is a 40 dollar full version but I'm not ready to pay that much
With that wide a table, is there a reason you picked O36 instead of something wider to allow for larger locomotives?
Not the best idea to have a bunch of S-curves with no straight track between them. Trains look better and operate more reliably if you have a straight track preferably at least as long as the wheelbase of your largest cars and locos, in between curves in opposite directions.
The reason for all the curves being 036 is that that is the track I currently have. This layout is built using all the layout pieces I currently own, with room for expansion with the full circle of 048 I recently bought. I would like to eventually add an outer 048 loop for 2 train operation
