We're having issues running our Lionel Rio Grand GP30 locomotive. The engine will stop and then start moving in a jerky movement before resuming it's previous speed - throttle untouched. This happens more at slow speeds then at high. We're running it right off a MTH Z4000 transformer - DC direct. Also when you ring the bell, the engine stops. The track, wheels and pick up roller are clean and the axles are properly lubricated. I'm wondering what might be causing this. I know it's an older locomotive but it has little run time on it.
