I am wondering which is correct. The Heavyweight Mikados in the 2014 Catalog require 54 radius. While those in the 2015 catalog require 36 radius.

I am asking the same question. which is why I resurrected this thread. I have the light mikado and it does 036. it does look funny though. so why is the heavy mikado rated for 054? does it do 036 even though it looks funny?
Both USRA versions use, theoretically, the same the same "chassis," so should run on the same curves.
But, a scale Mike looks, to my eye, silly on O36.
Why not a Lion Jr (whatever) for your Mike need?
The chassis is from K-Line. They will run on 031 with a longer drawbar. That is usually the limiting factor. If its an issue they can be made longer with a little work for a few cents in sheet metal.

Aha! Didn't think of that. The drawbar difference seems to explain the curve requirement.
Hopefully, the locos are stoker-fired, otherwise the long drawbar will be a problem for the fireman.
