How hard would it be to get my hands on a LCCA Black Lionel Goliath with matching passengers cars? I know there was one on the forum over a month ago, but it slipped away before I knew I had the funds. How frequent will we see something like that? Any help is appreciated...

That's a SUPER set and it was my first Standard Gauge purchase. Only 50 produced as I recall, so you won't see these surface all that much... but keep the faith. Just gotta be ready when the opportunity presents itself. You will not regret purchasing this set.
You may want to set an automatic search in your eBay account, so you'll get an email alert when a new Goliath is listed. In addition to the one that popped up here on the forum, I think I may have seen another one or two show up on eBay. But I'm not looking for it continuously... so there could have been more.
Best of luck!
David
I would post a listing on the Wanted to Buy forum. One sold on here a month or two ago. You might just get lucky. Good luck in your search.
Hi ej deme -
That was my Goliath set that I offered on the forum for sale about a month ago. I would highly recommend setting up an auto alert, as Rocky Mountaineer suggested, on ebay or keep searching the forum here for the set. Since the set came out I've only see one other forum member post the locomotive only for sale and I've also seen the entire set on ebay last year for almost triple the purchase price.
Keeping on searching and you're bound to find it somewhere. Best of luck to you.
Hi ej-deme.
send me an email I can check with the LCCA busines office.
They may still have a couple.

The LCCA's black Goliath with its three matching black Showroom passenger cars is a SUPER set and is definitely worth waiting to find! I had my set up and running last November at Trainfest 2014 and it really drew a crowd every time it ran.
I also attached the Goliath bipolar engine to a long circus train which the kids loved. Both the Goliath passenger train and the Goliath headed circus train can be seen in operation using the Trainfest 2014 video link above.
