Strange thing has happened. In Oct. I purchased a brand new MTH SD 70ACE Proto 3 Diesel Engine. (I also have another MTH SD 70ACE Proto 2; which works fine.) I put the Proto 3 onto my layout that I had a Lionel Legacy 990 hooked up to a TPC-300. Everything worked fine. I had ditch lights, horn, bell and cab lights. Now I have added a MTH DCS System to my layout. I have the Dcs & Legacy Systems running on the same track. I turn on off when I'm not using it. I used the engine on the DCS System for a little while. Again everything worked fine. I took it off the tracks and put it back on the Legacy System to run it. Now I have lost my "ditch" lights for no apparent reason and can't get them back on. I checked all the "lighting" codes and made sure everything was switched on; and they still don't work. Has anyone else had this problem??? My guess is that the Proto 3 was in Conventional Mode and once I put it on the DCS System it changed it to Command Mode. But why doesn't it switch back??? Thanks Guys TT

Are you saying that Legacy in conventional mode can turn features on and off on an MTH engine?
If you put it back on DCS and select Menu and than Control, you can scroll to Ditch Light. Press thumb wheel, at that point you can turn them to Auto.
They should flash when you press the whistle button.
Or you can do a feature reset with your transformer Whistle and Bell button. G
There is a fairly extensive list of ProtoSound 1 or DCS features that can be accessed if you have a TPC or the Legacy PowerMaster in conventional mode. This is a page from the Legacy PowerMaster User's Manual, the TPC has similar capabilities.

I understand those are the typical conventional controls that you can do with the bell and whistle. Just wanted to be clear on what was being posted.
Either way the ditch were probably turned off when he was using DCS. G
