Our club's light house did not last long. It seems the circuitry is not great. We took it apart to no avail. Forum member Eddiem installed an automotive LED license plate light that is can adjust the flash rate. Hopefully Ed will highlight the products in case anyone else wishes to upgrade their light houses.

The key to the new design is a circuit that feeds the LED bulb with a variable ramp up/down fade that looks very realistic. I didn't design the circuit but found a place that sells an inexpensive one made for LED lights.
I'll try to get a video of the light's blink feature if others are interested.

I would be interested in any more info on the fix as mine is on the short list to fix. It died last year.
Here is a brief video. Hope it comes out.

Don, video does a good job of illustrating the ramp up/ramp down brightness of the light. Newer lighthouses have this type of illumination (not LED, but ramp up/ramp down)
Step one is to remove the mechanical parts from the lighthouse, like the motor, drive shaft, and LED rotating light fixture at the top.
I'll try to get a list of parts on this thread soon!
Ed
Thanks Don for the heads up. Eddie, I would be interested in your parts list.
