Just trying to provide a little constructive criticism here, not bashing Lionel. I know the topic of colors being off has been discussed here in various places. Many have complained about Lionel's colors being inconsistent.
But am I the only one who has noticed that Lionel's colors as of late have actually been consistent, just consistently too light? From browns appearing red, to reds appearing pink, to greys appearing white, there seems to be a steady bent towards painting many items in substantially too light a shade. For instance, the N&W J-class, the PRR E8s, the NYC E8s, the WM SD40s, the recent run of reefers, and more. I can't recall any instances recently where the problem was that a color was too dark.
Does someone need to adjust the lighting in the paint-matching room over at the factory? Or the color setting of the scanner Lionel is using to send the manufacturer the color samples? I think Lionel should take a closer look at the process by which they obtain a color sample, scan it in, send it to the manufacturer, and then the process that the manufacturer uses to match and apply paint to match the sample.
Being off in general is one thing, but being consistently off in one direction tends to suggest something that could be corrected relatively easily.
Just my thoughts.
