Hello everyone. I normally do not post any question but I do check out the forum pretty much every day. I’m not well versed in Prewar to much. I enjoy working on my Postwar equipment and alway looking to expand to other eras in the hobby. With that being said, my father in law asked me to repair his prewar Lionel City of Denver 636. The locomotive runs fine but the fiber board that holds the pick up rollers broke on several of the trains units. I would love to tackle this job for him. I have searched the forum for this train but did not see much. Tomorrow I was going to contact Jeff Kane to inquire about the parts. Does anyone know of another avenue to take or have a parts list for this train? I attached two photos. Any information would really be appreciated. Thanks, Steve R.

I believe there are no replacement parts available for the vestibules using either the slide shoe, or the the fiber backed roller pickup. George Tebolt had formerly supplied both styles, but currently sold out. It might be possible that Joe Mania would be able to supply later in the year from the MEW tooling .

If Jeff doesn't have the part, it may be possible to recreate the fiber plate from a plastic sheet and reuse the roller assembly. If the rollers are missing, it may be possible to use/adapt this part from Ttender.com. Jeff may have better suggestions ....

The Lionel 636 Service Manual is attached as a pdf. It has drawings with part numbers and additional part lists. As an example, page 2 below.
