Lionel red button switch

That is what is in my hand,

both of the Middle line going to U , on Zw, 

no movement , cant understand,  debating about putting on toggle switch,

or checking another red switch

?? baffling

With the L terminal connected to the transformer, take a piece of wire in your hand and jumper the L & M terminals to test the lil' men wandering.

That will test the animation and also point to the switch status.

Stuff can be bad out of the box these days.

The manual shows a slide switch, you mentioned in your post a little red button switch. If it is a button and not a slide you may have to hold it down continuously, as they tend to be a momentary switch.

Another thought, rather than hold the jumper, just clip it in, like the wiring diagram shows for light and animation all the time, for the test.

Which Lionel red button switch are you referring to?

2 post, black red button slide  on/off switch, comes in a lot of operating accessories,

gonna try the suggestion from Moonman 1st, as saying maybe out

of box error,  who know

I recently got the latest release of the 192 Control Tower, and had no problems wiring it. Just follow directions in the guide that came with it. As I recall you can wire it several different ways to control the light and animation in several combinations.

If I had any issues, it's with those blasted terminal clips. Very hard to use I think.

while I jump  L and M

just tying to be sure,  so far as a for sure novice, I have had No,

short circuits,  bothered a lot of people for answers for which I am

There's the problem-the G connects to the A or Red terminal on the transformer and the L & M connect to the U or ground-Black terminal on the transformer.

Review the diagram in the manual again.

mistype,!  everything hooked right,  g- pos, l and m neg,

switch ,ok, but men only, 

hook a nother, line from m. and go direct to neg, 

leave switch alone, get light on and no men, crazy !!

What's the status.

Have you checked the accessory voltage? Perhaps this one wants more power.
