I just got off the phone with Aaron from the Lionel Service Department. He couldn't have been nicer. I waited about 5 minutes, but was never rushed when we were speaking. All my questions were addressed.

Thanks for posting. Always hear the bad, glad to hear the good.
I moved this to the correct category. This is a Lionel topic...not a 3-rail traditional toy train discussion.
I have spoken to Aaron twice in the last week with an issue I have. He couldn’t have been nicer. He is a good listener and doesn’t rush you. Very accommodating and very helpful.
I have also noticed that it has only taken about 5 or 10 minutes to get through to someone at Lionel Customer Service. Good service.

Hello. Did you use the Lionel Customer Service number or something different?
Thanks.
Donald
Lionel service number 586-949-4100.
I have the Mr muffins custom run Lionel amtrak e8s, The lights don't work in the 1 unit. Terrified to send them back.
I'm glad to hear some good news as well. It's easy enough to get mucked down in the negative stuff.
Since 2014 (year I got into the hobby), I have sent about 6 Legacy engines out of 15 back to Lionel for warranty service; 5 for smoke units, 1 that wound up being a short; all returned fixed and no damage; great service.
It's good news if they're answering faster, that was really the only issue I've had recently with Lionel Service. Ordering parts that I can get from the web order form has been smooth as silk, and they ship in a timely manner.

Tom,
If you are concerned with shipping the units back to Lionel for repair all I can say is I never had a shipping issue. Lionel’s repair service is top notch. However if you live in Pennsylvania (don’t know your exact location) but GunrunnerJohn lives in PA, Alex M lives in New Jersey you can contact them to see if they will fix your lighting problem. If you are close enough you can drop your trains off and forget shipping. Of course their services are not free but both are fair with what they charge. If you have the Legacy system you may want to call Lionel they can walk you though the lighting screens to see if something was accidentally tuned off.
Good Luck

I'm not worried about shipping, I'm worried about a scratch or something. With it being one of only 25 made.......good luck with a new shell if something horrible happened. I'm good with legacy. The number boards light but not the markers or headlight or interior light.
Good news I just pulled them out of storage and the lights now work.
hopefully on the up swing.
I have another positive Lionel Parts Service experience. I placed my order Sunday evening March 14th & the parts arrived today! It's the second order I placed in the past 2 months & the first order was fulfilled within a week also.
