Lionel Smoke unit question

SDIV TimOGR Forum Member

Has anyone put the rope style whick material in their Legacy Locos? If so how did it work? My Challenger has the 691SMKP008 which is the material Lionel puts in their Locos above and I believe the whick is charred

Buy the Lionel braided wick and shred it and just stuff it in. Mike Reagan did a good video on smoke units, that works pretty well for me. Those pads are strictly for convenience in the factory, it's easy for them to drop them in during the build.
