I have a Conrail Heritage SD70ACE. It is one of my favorites. It is a great runner with awesome sounds. I think that the Legacy SD70ACE engines are some of the best Lionel has to offer.
I took a chance and purchased that locomotive. It is a winner. It runs great and looks great. The Legacy features are fantastic. I would tell anyone to go for it.
I have had this locomotive for a while. The smoke and sounds are great. Whenever I get one of these locomotives, I run the wheels off of it while the Dealer still has one on the shelf. I would tell anyone to do the same and not take it out of the box a year later when they are extinct.
Lionel's SD70ACe are extremely amazing! I own a NS Virginian Heritage one and loved it so much I had to get the BNSF SD70ACe which I have been on the search for one for over a year until last week! The BNSF even sounds better than my NS one. Great engines can't speak highly enough about them.
It is based on the Texas Special paint for engines 101-102 for the Katy. It is not the heritage paint the UP uses. But I wish UP would have painted it that way!
