I just picked one of these up on eBay and I look forward to running it. It seems as though the early ones are a bit rarer, and I haven't been able to find much information about them. Were there any known operating issues with these that I should look out for?
The one I bought was said to have come from Richard Kughn's collection and is new in the box, so it doesn't really have any known issues. I've been wanting one for awhile, and they're neat looking little engines.

I have one. Great runner and no issues. The Choo Choo Barn in Strasburg Pa has one constantly running to represent the railroad. The TMCC has been removed but it says a lot for the mechanics.

Thanks for the insight. I've seen their model run (probably where I got it in my head that I wanted one), and you definitely make a good point about the mechanical parts being sturdy.
