Gentlemen:
I’m trying to replace the Adhesive Sign # 145-25 that reads LIONELVILLE on the Lionel Trains Automatic Gateman #145. I examined the replacement it appears to have an adhesive applied to backside with a protective paper strip. Just not sure what kind of adhesive was used. It is slightly tacky. The part comes from a well known parts provider but it has been a few years since it was purchased.
Would appreciate your advice as to the application of the sign. Thank you.

Instead of trying to peal off some of that lettering I used strips from a company that makes custom lettering. Very reasonable. You design your own any size any font. Enclosed a picture from my layout after using their product.
Thanks for the advice. I have a replacement sign however just uncertain about the original adhesive. When I removed the original it appeared to be something like rubber cement. Not the end of the world. I tend to be a perfectionist when it comes to these repairs.
