Hey Everyone!

I"m in the process of building my benchwork for an 8x8' layout. Pretty sure I'm going to do a version of Lionels D-132 layout similar to the one published in the March 2010 issue of CTT.

I was thinking of using Flexxbed with the tubular track. Has anyone used this combination before and with what results? If I am correct, I can glue the Flexxbed to the plywood top and just screw the track into the Flexxbed without piercing the plywood and the track would hold?

Any thoughts and opinions would be appreciated! I've been away from trains for 2 years due to a divorce but my interest in my hobbies are starting to come back. They say thats a good thing.

Thank You!

Jim

I've used Vinylbed, the predecessor to Flexxbed, with Standard Gauge tubular track with good results. I have zero experience with Flexxbed. It is very expensive. From what I've seen in pictures, it doesn't strike me as being as good looking as Vinylbed, but I haven't seen it in person so the pictures could be deceptive. I'd recommend getting a sample, or even a length or two, of the roadbed and trying it out before committing to the cost of buying the stuff for a whole layout.
