Seeking some scale cabooses and was wondering which ones are scale as the title states.  Listing by manufacturer my beliefs are as follows:  please advise me of my errors or add to my omissions.

Lionel  Std O only

Weaver  all

Mth  purple boxes

Williams     How can you tell?  Are the boxes that say 1/48 scale truly scale?

Williams by Bachmann    same as williams

and of course any of the smaller companies such as KMT,  pecos etc.

Looking forward for your help

It depends on what you call scale. The lionel postwar N5C cabin car and the Williams Reproduction of the same postwar cabin car is almost as scale as the Weaver Brass N5C cabin car. In retrospect while the MTH premier N5c looks scale, its actually a tad bigger more like 1:43 instead of 1:48 scale. While the Scale K Line N5C is more of a characature than a scale caboose due to its disproportionate size.

The Lionel Standard O Extended Vision caboose is too narrow. Atlas O Master Line and Trainman line of extended cabooses are scale. Same goes for the Bay Window caboose between Lionel Standard O and Atlas O.

How about Lionel's scale container cars. They look scale yet only scale out to 46' well length instead of correct 48' well length. Which is what the MTH Premier well cars are.
