Have only recently become aware of the fact of the majority of 'large scale' items produced by USA Trains and Aristo  being too large for the track width at 1:29. I gather that MTH 'Gauge One' is correct at 1:32 but who else manufactures in this scale?

I started a Harriman 0-6-0 for that track gauge, and remember being confused.  Aren't there several sizes for the gauge?  45 mm track would seem to be 1/31.4 or so.

They did the same thing we did in the beginning of O Scale - chose a scale unrelated to gauge.  It is so easy to get it right . . .

Always lusted after an Aster.  Figured stainless steel lost-wax castings were bulletproof. Now that I know they are fragile, I shall quit lusting.
