I recently found this this cute little tank engine on eBay, and to my surprise it didn't attract much attention and I ended up with it for a very modest price. It appears to be an LM Blum model, made by Kumata, that I've seen photos of but never one up for auction.
It's clearly already been re-detailed - the domes, stack, headlight, and smokebox front appear to have been added and notice all of them are crooked! Since it's no longer original I have no qualms about stripping it, giving it more and better details and a decent paint job. I'll post photos of my progress, but first does anybody know anything more about this critter? I know it's not a high-end model but it's reasonably well made, and has good "bones" for a freelance project.
