If you don't want to build one as John says, HO would be a good start for that size.
rattler21,
Just curious what do you use to print the signs out on? Card Stock, Photo paper etc.
Thanks!
Dave
I will probably print on regular computer paper and glue to a heavier stock. If that fails, I will print to card stock.
I print out billboards and signs on photo paper with my printers highest resolution, then I spray them with a clear flat for a billboard or gloss if I want to simulate a metal sign. sometimes I need to mount them on a styrene backer for stiffness.
How about something like this (fits a grain silo, doesn't it?)?
You can google the image (if you don't like this one) and re-size it.

I am hoping to use the logo if my local grain dealer. This requires me to construct a sign and billboard at this point. If I fail at that I will eagerly and happily go for a Miller sign. I love their stuff.
Frank53,
Great looking billboard!
Can you post when your article is printed? I'm looking forward to it

Bill:
I make my billboard signs by printing on clear shipping labels that Avery sells. the printer as mentioned above is set to its best image resolution. I let the ink dry for a night then follow up with spray coats of Krylon Satin Clear. You can use the gloss clear also if you want a glossy appearance.
Once the clear coat dries I use the printed sign just like one would use dry transfer decals. I place it on a 40 or 80 mil white styrene to make the basic assembly for a billboard sign. If you want a colored back ground for the sign make it of your printed design. The white styrene is needed because the decal will 'disappear' if you try to attach it to pre-colored styrene.

Joe,
I just finished my first sign. It worked like an charm!
Thank you.

Here are a few billboards.
The first two shots are of a billboard done by a friend, Price Bradshaw (aka The Shadow on this forum). Absolutely stellar work.
This next one is mine. It is mounted on the front of my Weirton Steel Blooming Mill.

Here are some signs I designed with my computer. I used CoralDraw but any vector drawing program would work. Trolley car books have pictures of urbanscapes and are a gold mine of ideas. After I draw the sign, I print it out on photo paper. Next I seal it with a clear flat or gloss, and mount it on a styrene base before I attach it to the building. The Billboard on the side of the grocery store is a Lionel that I scanned, printed then framed.
I did not mount the street signs on a styrene base. I just painted the backs. And glued them to lamp posts or music wire.

Richard, what did you use for the green frame on the building????
Mullet River Models sells a laser cut kit for a billboard.

Evergreen Styrene strips with a sheet styrene base. I painted the frame dark green then glued in the billboard.
