I'm building one of these little critters, and for the life of me I cannot dig up a color shot of one showing it's color obviously, and even better would be some evidence of how it was lettered by the PRR. Thanks for any aid provided.

A friend in So Cal had one and the color seemed to be a very faded Yellow. had a plate on it that said "property of the PRR"
You might try contacting the Pennsylvania Railroad Historical & Technical Society for help with your modeling project. Even if they don't have color photographs they may have the information you seek. I would be interested to see your speeder when you're finished. http://www.prrths.com/
From the Yanosey Books, they were painted All MOW yellow with Black Chevrons on the front.
Bob, +1 for chrome yellow. Not all had black chevrons, but a lot did.
OK chrome yellow is a good start. Placement of any lettering is still in question though and a photo will be the ultimate aid I suspect. So far so good nevertheless and will keep an eye on this thread for more evidence. I will contact the Society as well. Thanks.

I have yet to come across a side shot of a PRR speeder. I will watch this thread in high hopes. I would like to correct this scheme:
In doing a Google Search, it appears the RR Museum of PA has A speeder. OF what Rr I don't know:
Yes I saw that one as well, but it's probably wishful thinking to believe it's PRR...but maybe someone will add something to that.

The PRRT&HS sponsors a Yahoo on-line discussion group and you don’t have to be a PRRT&HS member to use it. The group has been around since 1999 and has had lots of messages and photos posted over those 18 years and perhaps they’ve discussed your question in the past. You could check their archives of past messages and photos and if you don’t find anything you can post your question there. In that case I believe you need to have a Yahoo account to post a message.
Here’s the link to that Yahoo group: https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/PRR/info

It's a restricted group so you'll also have to join the group to look at the archives, etc
If they have the 2 rail speeder at the Pennsylvania railroad museum in Strasburg PA you can contact them. The PA RR museum has a lot of stuff from the Pennsylvania RR system.

The ones that I saw around the Louisville Ky area when I was a kid, were always yellow, with black numbers and letters.....I don't even remember seeing any PRR Logos on them now that I think back.......

Oh That helps a lot. I'm able to see the color and even thought somewhat faded most likely...it's still the best look I've seen. I thank you very much...
