Hello, I was a former member here years ago but had to rejoin as I lost all my sign in info. Haha! But anyway, I'm looking for a brass coupler pocket suitable for a PRR 4-4-2 E6s. My Max Gray E6s is missing the pocket that was once solder onto the face of the pilot beam. Here it is on the right, posed with a Fred Icken E6s that's on the left. And some closeups. Anyone happen to have the identical Max Gray coupler pocket or something similar that can be soldered on and a coupler shank allowed to be mounted with a tiny screw?  Thanks, Gary20180809_104143DSC02502DSC02503

Yeah, maybe.  But to part with it I would require a photo essay on that Icken posted here.  You could post it on that high resolution forum, and that would work.

I recommend opening a hole in that pilot beam and anchoring a longer shank coupler to the beam itself.  I do have pockets that will enable that.  I am looking for one that is flat, with a coupler pinned to it.  Right now I don't know where it is, so no guarantees.

The Max Gray E6s now has a replacement pilot coupler pocket and coupler. Thanks Bob. Pulled out the resistance soldering unit and attached the pocket and coupler today. Eventually I'll mask off the area, grit blast the pilot and airbrush to restore. Heck, may even give the loco/tender an all new proper paint job to my liking.20180818_145308
