Looking for some detailing ideas

I would suggest a trolley station for people to get to and from the amusements. You can use a walkway or roadway with gravel to get from the station to the park.

For the midway, you might try using cardboard ( either from backs of tablets or similar or by separating corrugated cardboard):  cut it to the size/shape you want for your midway, then do your scenicking on the cardboard using the typical woodland scenic supplies (gravel, dirt, grasses, or ballast for stones, whatever effect you are going for).

You might need a parking lot with lots of 1:43/48/50 cars for your visitors to the carnival.

Maybe some JT's Mega Steam smoke scents like Frying Bacon, Baking Bread or Coffee.  Unfortunately I don't see hot dog scent listed on their web site.

Looks like it will be a fun project!

I have one of the Williams Peter Witt trolleys and a station on order.

You might also consider a siding for when extra service needs to be provided.

Trash cans and rest rooms are called for.

Thanks but I plan to keep it simple.  Just two loops. The focus is on the amusements.

I have a dumpster and should try to get a few out houses.  Great suggestion.

Roads; trees; lights; telephone poles; parking area with cars, trucks; ice cream parlor; hot dog stand.

Your biggest issue is you can see your train constantly. What you need is a 4ft scenic divider diagonally across the layout so you block seeing the trains constantly.
