Iv'e seen GS-4's with one headlight and a Mars light, but never with dual headlights. Must be a real rare one on E-bay. Don

I think the smoke box front needs turned 90 degrees.
I thought this was real for a minute. I had to laugh too when I noticed the boiler front was just on wrong.
When I got my Lionel MPC GS-4 many years back the lighted number board piece in the boiler front was upside down. I always thought it was a genuine factory error, but recently I took a closer look at it out of curiosity and was disappointed to see that the piece is not one with the boiler front and easily taken out. Someone must have just put it in wrong.
Could be a little-known Upper Hinge Smokebox Front. It looked good on paper. An open smokebox front was up and out of the way. Put aside after a pole supporting an open front gave way when someone climbed on top to replace a bulb.
Someone named Scher had a hand in it, I heard tell . . . .
Don,
Does this mistake lower the price? Killian
You got me, I didn't notice until it was pointed out, I was still scratching my head when I got to the second post.
Killian, it's in the $200 range now, not bad for a scale brass engine. I have one just for display. Would not think of running it on the Milwaukee. Had to buy it looked so good. Don
A buddy of mine says he had one years ago. The front was part of a windup mechanism. When it turned, a bell rang and oranges came out of a reefer.
I asked how in the world a reefer loaded with oranges wound up in a DAYLIGHT consist. He said that it happened during a surge in traffic when there weren't enough Cab-Forwards to go around.
I was skeptical but he said that he would accept my apology when Lionel or MTH or Weaver or the new owners of Marx come out with an operating orange reefer. The next big thing, he said.
What did Forrest Gump say? stupid is as stupid does.

Kind of makes it look like a Buck Rodgers space ship or some kind of hot rod.

Ahhhh....that's better!!!
It is a great loco for the going price. I paid right at $200 for mine. It was the last of my 'gotta have' steam locos I had in HO that I NEEDED in O scale!!!
Dave, you've got the boiler front the wrong way round!!!! Send it back.
Don
Theres another one on there to compare it to. Judging by the lack of a fork shape that should be there on both hinges it's broken and that's why he got a piece of Styrofoam propping it up. He's not saying anything about damage just "look at the pictures"
I do see he's offering returns for 14 days. I'll pass
David
Gives it that sorta Dolly Parton look
Could you imagine the expletives coming from the mechanic when that thing came down on his hands, or even trying to lift it up.
