I do like to redo things on the table tops a few times a year. The S & H0 have been packed away and replaced with Lumar Valley. Still a lot of work to do, but good progress for two days with some help from #3 Grandson. A large part of this is the stuff from the Nixon Holiday Display last year. The Grandson loves the rafters so he did the climbing around to retrieve the stuff for me.

I really like the concept of what I suppose could be called a purely tinplate layout, an idea that I have been mulling over the past year ever since completing my small Hornby version of the same concept.

I have been taking trains out of my purchasing list for several months now building up a stock of tinplate structures ( not an easy task) Your layout is an inspiration as well... to keep going in this direction.

I had the Lumar conveyor\ loader ( looks somewhat like a coaling tower ) and so the latest acquisition was the hard to find Lumar construction office to go alongside of it.

A dump truck is next and those are pricey in good condition so I am saving my pennies.

What a great example you have !

Another acquisition has been the Marx airport for which I had gotten a tin Constellation...I am seriously considering dismantling what I have just to have the opportunity to follow your example but I am still dithering about it.

Your stuff is always an inspiration to me and my ambitions..you just gave me another push.

Awesome. Guess I'm sorta with Electroliner in that I've been thinking of maybe converting my layout to all tinplate. Haven't worked up the nerve. May just do another small layout of pure tinplate.Just plain and simple tube rail without a roadbed and simple tin trains and buildings.

There's a quote by Mikhail Kalashnikov (inventor of the AK47 rifle) about complex things are not good, but simple things are. I wonder if he was into tinplate too?  LOL
