What is the best way to tighten up a binding post?? I have Greenberg's Repair Manual, but it doesn't address this issue...

I've had some success crimping them with a pair of pliers and a nut against the binding post on the crimped side. If that doesn't work they sell replacement binding posts that have a nut to for attaching.
Forum Sponsor @S AND W has the 1033-20 binding post listed at a buck a piece (http://www.sandwparts.com/Parts%20List/6-XXXX-XXX.pdf) I'm not sure if they are the riveted style (original on the left) or the easy replacement repair screw on style (on the right below).

Thanks for the information guys!! I have a small anvil I use at times.. It has a small hole in it, about the size of the threaded part of the binding post.. I put it in there and hit the back side with a punch.. It tightened right up!! The original one looks like the one on the left of the picture.. It was in good shape except for being a bit loose.. Like bmoran4 said, if the post had been in poor shape the replacement repair screw on the right is the way to go!!
we sell the screw style and find it's the easiest for repairs.
